Yorkshire Airedales was founded out of a deep love for dogs, specifically Airedale Terriers. We had a desire to preserve what makes this breed so special… their intelligence, loyalty, unique character and steady temperament. We also hoped to share that with other families.
Our dogs are first and foremost family members, living in the home and sharing everyday life with us. We believe that dogs raised with care, love and understanding grow into confident well-balanced adults.
Our Foundation
Our Airedales come from the Harpham Airedales line, a long line renowned for its exceptional temperament and sound nature.
Geoff and Sylvia Pickering of Harpham Airedales are family friends and bred Airedales with dedication and integrity for decades. When they made the decision to retire from breeding, they very kindly entrusted us with one of their girls, allowing the Harpham line to continue.
Our Approach
We breed occasionally and thoughtfully, always placing the welfare of our dogs and the future of the breed first. Our aim is not to produce puppies in volume, but to raise a small number of well- socialised, healthy, happy Airedales who will thrive as companions and spread joy to other families.
Puppies are raised in a home environment, surrounded by everyday sights, sounds, experiences and other dogs. They are handled with love and care from the very beginning.
